What a glow floor can look like

Lights on, the floor shows its base color. Lights off with a UV light on, the pattern lights up.

  • The same garage with the lights on: the floor shows a pale gray marbled base color

Two different effects

Glow-in-the-dark vs black-light reactive

They look alike in photos, but they work differently. Most people pick one based on whether the room has a UV light.

Glows on its own

Glow-in-the-dark

Photoluminescent pigment soaks up light, then gives it back when the lights go off. No special lights needed.

  • Brightest right after the lights go out, then fades over the next few hours.
  • Recharges every time it sits in light again.
  • How bright it starts depends on how much light it got first.
Needs a UV light

Black-light reactive

Fluorescent pigment lights up under ultraviolet (black) light. Bright and even for as long as the UV light is on.

  • Does not fade while the UV light stays on.
  • No glow without a UV light in the room. The lights are a separate item.
  • A natural fit for theaters, game rooms and bars.
  • Garagesa floor that shows off after dark
  • Game roomspairs well with black light

Honest notes before you decide

  • Glow fades. A glow-in-the-dark floor is brightest in the first stretch after dark and dims over hours. It is not a light source.
  • It is sealed under a clear topcoat. The effect sits under a clear protective layer, like the flakes on a flake floor.
  • Daylight look. In normal light the floor shows its base color, not the glow. Ask to see a sample.
  • Priced on site. There is no published range for glow floors yet. Pigment, coverage and the room set the price, and you get it in writing after the floor is seen.

How it is installed

Six steps to a floor that lasts

Most of a good floor is the prep you never see. Here is what happens, start to finish.

  1. 01

    Tell us about the room

Send the short form or call. The room, the rough size and which effect you like: glow-in-the-dark or black-light reactive.

  2. 02

Free on-site look and written price

A local installer comes out, measures, and looks at cracks, stains and any old coating. You get a written price before any work starts, with no obligation.

  3. 03

    Diamond-ground prep

The slab is diamond ground to open up the surface, then cracks and pits are filled. This is what makes the coating bond to the concrete instead of peeling off it.

  4. 04

Base coat and the glow layer

A base coat goes down wall to wall, then the glow or UV-reactive pigment is worked into the pattern you picked.

  5. 05

    Clear protective topcoat

A clear topcoat seals everything in. It is the layer that takes the parking, hot tires, spills and scuffs, and it is what you wipe clean.

  6. 06

    Walkthrough and handover

You walk the finished floor with the installer and get clear times for when to walk on it and when to park on it.

Step photos show typical coating work and a design illustration, not a specific Las Vegas job. The installer confirms the system and the schedule for your floor at the quote.

Straight answers

Questions Las Vegas homeowners ask

If yours isn't here, call (725) 433-4546 and you'll get a plain answer.

01Does a glow-in-the-dark floor glow all night?

No. It is brightest right after the lights go out and fades over the next few hours. It recharges the next time the room is lit.

02Are these floors actually durable?

Yes, when the prep is done right. This is not garage paint or a store-bought kit. The concrete is diamond ground so the coating bonds into it, then a multi-coat system goes down and is sealed under a clear protective topcoat. The glow or UV-reactive pigment sits under that topcoat, like the chips on a flake floor. How long any floor lasts depends on the slab, the prep and how the space is used, so ask what is covered and get it in writing on your quote.

03Do I need special lights?

For glow-in-the-dark, no: normal room light or daylight charges it. For black-light reactive, yes: it only lights up under a UV (black) light, which is a separate item.

04What does it look like with the lights on?

You see the base color of the floor. The glow effect shows in the dark, or under UV light for a black-light floor. Ask to see a sample at your quote.

05How much does a glow floor cost?

There is no published range for glow floors yet. The pigment, how much of the floor glows and the size of the room set the price. The installer puts it in writing after seeing the floor.

06Is a coated floor slippery?

Any glossy floor can be slick when wet. Flake has natural texture, and an anti-slip additive can be added to the topcoat on any finish. Ask for it at your quote if grip matters to you.

07Is the quote free, and am I committing to anything?

The on-site quote is free and there is no obligation. You get a written price, and the decision is yours.

08Who actually installs my floor?

A local installer we connect you with. Las Vegas Epoxy Pros gives you the price range and passes your request to a local garage floor installer. Your quote comes from the installer.
